Located near Knjaževac, in the courtyard of the old village school in the village of Ravna, Arheo-Ethno Park Ravna is a unique open-air museum that brings together history and tradition.
Visitors can explore a traditional Morava-style house built using the bondruk construction method and relocated from Stara Planina. The park also offers various workshops and provides fascinating insights into the rich history of this region.
The park was established due to its proximity to the ancient Roman fortification Timacum Minus. Significant archaeological finds from Timacum Minus are exhibited within the archaeological collection housed in the former school building.
Lovers of tradition will especially appreciate the authentic setting that recreates village life from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In the cellar of one of the houses, there is a wine museum with a wine cellar, while the old village school now operates as a research station where scientific projects are conducted and archaeological materials are studied and preserved.
The courtyard also features a lapidarium displaying Roman monuments discovered at the Late Antique site of Timacum Minus, where ethno motifs and tradition intertwine with distant history.
Within the park, a Center for Traditional Pottery and Preservation of Old Crafts has been established. A special focus is placed on traditional pottery workshops, including work on replicas of ancient and traditional pottery kilns.
Each year, the Homeland Museum organizes Summer Schools of Pottery, Conservation, and Archaeology in Ravna, offering a unique opportunity to learn and experience the spirit of past times.
