The closest recreational area within the territory of the city of Vidin is the picturesque Božurica region. It is located near the village of Sinagovtsi, about 22 kilometers south of Vidin. This beautiful area is home to the only forest of tall trees in Northwestern Bulgaria. The site owes its name and charm to the red wild peonies that grow there.
An eco-trail built by young volunteers runs through the area. The surroundings are rich in mushrooms, wild fruits, herbs, and flowers. The presence of both large and small game provides opportunities for hunting tourism.
The area offers excellent conditions for both short and extended stays in a park-like forest setting, with opportunities for excursions, walking, hunting, and fishing. Anyone wishing to experience the spirit of untouched nature can fully enjoy it here.
Božurica Lake is located within the area. The reservoir is used for irrigation and covers a flooded area of 237 decares. The lake is also suitable for fishing, with species such as zander, Prussian carp, and crucian carp.
